Fabio Lovino


Fabio Lovino was born in Rome, forty years ago.
During the university years he began to work as a photographer for commercials, rock stars and jazz musicians’ portraits, collaborating with magazines such as L’Espresso, Rockstar. While making portraits, he began to work as a still photographer on movies, portraits of writers and contemporary visual artists. He published numerous articles and covers on the major Italian magazines.

Publishes on international magazines such as GQ, Dazed and Confused, Max, Premiere, Studio Magazine and realizes numerous CD covers for Italian and international artists (the last two for Mark Knopfler and Morrissey), working with the most important music labels. Had many exhibitions on the Italian Cinema in Rome, Turin, Milan and one on Jazz in New York, multivisions in Rome and Turin collaborating with the Italian Fund for Photography.

Among the circa 50 films he worked for specialsthere are: The Funeral, The black out and Go go tales by Abel Ferrara, The Prince of Homburg by Marco Bellocchio, Augustus and S. Peter, has been contacted all over the world, to shoot the most important artists.

Has shot covers of the most important magazines, fashion commercial campaigns, CD covers…
Today he is still considered one of the most important Cinema, Music and Art related photographers.
He started working with the prestigious agency Contrasto in 2002.

One of his last works, the exhibition “A Riveder le stelle”, produced by Mondadori for the Rome Film Festival, was realized with 43 actors/directors and 18 fashion designers, and a tv program for Fox tv “Photo call”.

Fabio Lovino, romano, quarantenne, sagittario… fotografo, per passione e amore per l’immagine e forse per destino, inizia giovanissimo a fotografare.
La passione diventerà presto un lavoro, che lo porterà a seguire jazzisti e rockstar in giro per il mondo, prima come tour photographer, e poi realizzando le copertine di molti dischi in Italia e all’estero.

Solo in ordine di tempo, gli ultimi album di Mark Knopfler e Morrissey in Inghilterra, Elisa, Caparezza, Subsonica, Marina Rei, Alex Britti, Cammariere, in Italia.

Colleziona nel portfolio personale artisti italiani ed internazionali come Robert De Niro ed Al Pacino, Benicio del Toro, Terry Gilliam, Martin Scorsese, Francis Ford Coppola, Isabelle Huppert, David Cronemberg, David Lynch, Marco Bellocchio, Bertolucci, Moretti, Morante, Castellitto

Molti di questi ritratti sono diventati le copertine e servizi dei più famosi magazine italiani ed esteri, come Io Donna, Max, Elle, Vogue Pelle, Vanity Fair, Il Venerdì, Rolling Stone, Studio e l’Express.

Ha “girato” come regista e produttore video con artisti italiani ed esteri per vari canali, partecipando a numerosi festival, ultimo per FOX tvPhoto call” in 10 puntate con 10 attrici italiane.

Nel 2006 ha realizzato un libro per l’auditorium di Roma, e nel 2007 una mostra pubblicata da Mondadori “A riveder le stelle”, con 45 attori/ci e registi italiani.
